12 days of blogging: Day 4- Love Actually (2003)

I think it has been made a criminal offence in Britain not to watch Love Actually at Christmas, it is everywhere I turn. I mean I like Love Actually just as much as the next person but does it really have to be beaten into us at Christmas.
The film has a star-studded cast as it is made up of inter-linking stories about many different people and what happens to them at Christmas. Out of all of the films with inter-linking stories and star studded casts (you know... those films) this is by far the best, but it really isn't hard to beat Valentines Day, New Year's Eve or Movie 43.
Synopsis
We see how eight couples lives change when dealing with various situation during the hectic month of Christmas in my beautiful England. The film deals with adultery, betrayal, weight, very young love, mental health, drugs and even falling in love with your best friends girl.

Some Little Facts

  • Sam's crush, Joanna, did sing the song "All I want for Christmas is you" and it was even edited to make it seem more like a child singing.
  • Billy Bob Thornton had a fear of antique furniture so before a take Hugh Grant would sometimes flash some furniture to watch him freak out.
  • Love Actually was the most rented film of 2004
  • Kris Marshall returned his paycheck on the day of shooting where he had to be undressed by attractive women saying he had such a great time and was willing to do it for free.

What a lovely Christmas film, it does just fill you up with joy but also can make you cry. It is a must-watch if your British or if it's Christmas or in fact anytime of year.
