The Million Dollar Mermaid

The Million Dollar Mermaid, the woman who made the aqua-musical famous, Esther Williams has passed away in her sleep at the age of 91. She was a truly beautiful woman and swimmer, dazzling viewers with her extravagant, enthusiastic, kaleidoscope of swimmers. Known for her swimming abilities and her vast array of swimsuits. She was dubbed the million dollar mermaid after an impressive film of the same name about Annette Kellerman.
I have seen a few of her films, far to few, but from the ones I saw she was magnificent and made an impact into the film industry starring with greats such as Red Skelton, Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire and a very dear and personal favorite of mine, Mickey Rooney in one of the beloved Andy Hardy's.
She was a beautiful and elegant woman even in her old age who will be dearly missed, at least she left her mark by shaping part of the film industry and in that creating some marvelous pictures.
